For many people, the dream of becoming rich is one that is always in the back of their minds. While the desire to simply provide for ourselves and our families is always a driving factor in what we do, the desire to have wealth above and beyond that can often be the number one factor in all decisions made. For that reason, many people are constantly on the lookout for ways to achieve this.

Someday, you are going to realize that all that money your regular job pays you may not really be enough. Not enough to pay for the medical expenses to treat your ailments or other medical conditions to resuscitate you week after week of grueling in your dead end job. Not enough to buy you the freedom to spend quality time with your family and no work-life balance. Not enough to achieve your dreams and feel really happy in life. Hopefully this day will come sooner. You really ought to know that at some point in your life you must, at any cost – Fire your boss! and begin to take charge of your own life. Yes, you have to!

The bottom line in any successful work from home business is to determine “What will it really take to get that ,000 plus into my bank account or PayPal account?” The answer is found in the math.

Research necessary costs. Your current “bills” plus 5% inflation per year. Don’t forget to factor in life insurance, health insurance, car insurance, etc.

You see, a business creates a job for one basic reason: they need that spot filled to make the business more money.period! Businesses don’t hire you just because you’re unemployed, have sick family members and need to work to support them, or because you’ve graduated from college. Again, a business hires a person because that person’s employment leads to the company making more money.

Self discipline is the key. If you can’t keep yourself on the job without someone telling you what to do, working at home isn’t going to work out so well for you. It may not be impossible, but it’s not going to be easy either. Given that many work at home jobs pay on production and that all employers expect productive employees no matter how they’re paid, you can’t slack off just because you’re not in the office.

This is why the failure rate is so high in this industry. People are there for the emotions not the business. People so often get caught up in the feel good side of the industry they forget why they got started in the first place. For most people they saw an opportunity to make some extra money from home. This is not to say that there are sometimes legitimate reasons to look for a new business. Sometimes there are. The problem is that when you make the move to a new type of business you take yourself with you.

If you see there is money to be made, an opportunity that is new and exciting and the product or service that has appeal in the marketplace, you know you have found a winner!
